GL EXPO Attendee FAQs

What do the regular registration fees cover?

The regular registration fee covers admittance to all education sessions and the trade show for all three days of the EXPO. There are four categories of regular registration fees: Fruit, Vegetable, Greenhouse and Fruit/Vegetable. Each category offers free subscriptions to various trade publications. The Fruit and Fruit/Vegetable categories include membership in the Michigan State Horticultural Society. The Vegetable and Fruit/Vegetable categories include membership in the Michigan Vegetable Council.

Is it possible to register for a single day?

A reduced registration fee is offered for Thursday only (the last day of the EXPO). The trade show is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday. Thursday's education program includes four workshops for farm marketers that morning, morning and afternoon sessions for organic growers, and morning and afternoon sessions on farmers markets. The Thursday-only registration fee does not include any free subscriptions or memberships.

Is it possible to register for the trade show only?

No. All registration fees cover admittance to both the trade show and education sessions. We want to encourage attendees to come for both.

What other special registration fees are available?

Life Members of the Michigan State Horticultural Society can register at a reduced fee. Life memberships in this organization are no longer available. Free subscriptions are offered as part of Life Member registrations.

Spouses of people paying a regular registration fee can register for a reduced fee. Spouses must register together to qualify for the reduced fee. Children 18 and under register free when they register with one or both of their parents. These registrations are good for all three days of the EXPO, but do not include any free subscriptions or memberships.

College students and Michigan State University staff can also register for a reduced fee. College students must provide a copy of their college ID. These registrations are also good for all three days of the EXPO, but do not include any free subscriptions or memberships.

Are any discounts offered for people registering from the same business?

Farm, farm market and greenhouse businesses with four or more regular registrations may deduct $10 from each registration. This is only available through pre-registration and does not apply to special registration categories. To receive the discount, registrations must be submitted together online or by mail or fax.

Do I save money by pre-registering for the EXPO?

You save $20 on each regular registration and $15 on each MSHS Life member registration, and $5 on each Thursday only and spouse registration.

When is the deadline for pre-registering for the EXPO?

The deadline for registering online or by fax is November 15 (see the registration page). Mailed registrations must be postmarked by this date. Any registrations sent after this date will be subject to the onsite registration fees. Go to the Help Desk at registration if you submit a registration form after the November 15 deadline.

Do event tickets need to be purchased before the EXPO?

A limited number of tickets for the Prayer Breakfast and EXPO Banquet will be available onsite. To be sure you get the event tickets you want, we suggest you purchase tickets during pre-registration.

When will I receive my attendee badge and event tickets?

For all registrations and event tickets ordered by the November 15 pre-registration deadline, attendee badges and tickets will be mailed to you. When you arrive at the EXPO, you just need to pick up your badge holder and program and you can proceed directly to the education sessions and trade show.

May I cancel my registration?

Registration fees and event ticket orders will be refunded for cancellation requests received by the November 15 pre-registration deadline. You can make cancellation requests by phone (734-239-8027), fax (734-677-2407), or by email (jtalik@managedbyamr.com). A $10 processing fee will be charged on refunds.
