2010 Trade Show

The past shows have each been a huge success, but the 2009 show was over the top! Just under 400 companies exhibited, taking 737 booth spaces. It was a very exciting event to be part of. Plans are underway for this year, we want to keep the momentum going. We feel this is THE show to attend in North America! We will again be located in DeVos Place, this beautiful structure has one gigantic room for the Trade Show, it is a state of the art facility. There are 4 acres of exhibit space!

We are pleased to have the Michigan Greenhouse Growers Expo join us again, their educational program will be held concurrently with the Great Lakes EXPO and they will be part of the trade show. This will bring in many new companies and members, enlarging our event even more. Exhibitors with greenhouse related products will be noted in the program, making it easier for members to find the companies related to this new facet of the trade show.

Our combined membership for the 2009 convention was just under 4,000. The membership is not only from Michigan -- 35 other states and 5 providences of Canada attended last year. This convention brings together, Tree Fruit, Brambles, Grapes, Vegetables and Greenhouse Growers, as well as all types of Farm Marketers.

We plan to have over 400 companies located in the exhibit hall. Some of the companies that exhibit include; seed, nurseries & packaging companies, chemical & fertilizer companies, equipment large & small, processing equipment, lending and leasing, insurance, and investment companies. There are also many private brand companies as well as entertainment exhibits for the farm markets. We have many state and federal agencies that also exhibit, updating the attendees on topics relating to regulations, programs and changes that are occurring. In addition to the trade show, concurrent educational sessions will take place, members can attend and learn about many topics including new products and better growing techniques. This year we will again have Greenhouse related topics.

The trade show dates are Tuesday Dec. 7th – 9th 2010. Move-in starts Sunday, Dec.5th for equipment only and Monday Dec. 6th for all others. The Trade Show ends at 1 PM on Thursday, so people can easily pack up their exhibits and leave that day.
