Summary: This session will highlight the equipment and management challenges faced by vegetable growers in producing a safe, profitable and nutritious crop. Canopy targeting, using air assist to your advantage, benefits of small droplet spectra, and assessing good coverage with low volume and ultra low volume air assisted sprayers. Selection of mobile, handheld computers and software for pest scouting, soil sampling, machine guidance and labor management. Review of currently sprayer technology for handling nontraditional and challenging organic nutritionals such as fish emulsion, live organisms and compost teas. Strategies to improve coverage and effectiveness of contact-sensitive materials.
