2009 Farm Market Bus TourThe first Farm Market Bus Tour in 2008 had a great response, attracting participants from 18 states and 6 Canadian provinces. In 2009, seven of West Michigan’s top farm market and agri-tourism locations – all different from last year’s stops – will be visited. The tour is being sponsored by Fruit Growers News and Vegetable Growers News with support from the Michigan Farm Marketing & Agri-Tourism Association.This year’s tour will be held on Monday, December 7, the day before the Great Lakes EXPO opens. It will be a great opportunity to network with other farm marketers, learn new marketing tips, and see how operations set up to maximize holiday season sales. While traveling on the bus between stops, there will be interactive discussions, led by Bob Tritten (District Extension Fruit Educator for Southeast Michigan) and Ron Goldy (District Extension Vegetable Educator for Southwest Michigan), to share information and ideas with others on the tour. The cost of the tour is $149 per person. This includes transportation to the farm market stops, lunch and snacks.
